How does it work?

We fund projects that create energy via renewable sources, like hydropower or wind farms. Or ones that help people use different types of fuel: solar instead of wood. Or fund rainforest protection.

For every ton of carbon that is “retired” the project receives financial support that allows its business plan to work. This is the “additionality principle”. Your support is essential to making these projects happen.

We use a basket system to ensure the emission reductions you fund are delivered. This maintains the pool of available carbon and so it helps us keep prices stable.
